The Legacy
In 1950, according to TIME Magazine Bushman was also “the best known and most popular figure in Chicago.” But this bushman was a 6’2”, 547 pound silverback gorilla who lived at the Lincoln Park Zoo. Bushman, the businessman, saw potential in Bushman the gorilla and offered him a position. Or so the story goes. While one Bushman overlooked the company, the other Bushman overlooked the logo. And today, Bushman is still seen as a symbol of strength in the Material Handling Equipment Industry.
