Design Compliance Certification

Bushman Equipment manufactures high quality, custom designed Below-the-Hook equipment to pick up, move, position and otherwise handle coils, sheets, ingots, rolls, drums and many other heavy industrial materials.

Throughout the design and production of Bushman products, your satisfaction is supported by our quality assurance process. This program includes maintenance of complete records on each job, appropriate inspection and testing, and complete labeling of each unit in terms of identification, weight, capacity and safety. Each Bushman welder has received certification for AWS standards D1.1 and D14.1 as they pertain to our products. Bushman products conform to ASME B30.20 standards for Below-the-Hook Lifting Devices and OSHA specifications.

As a pledge of our commitment to quality, certificates of design compliance are available to Bushman customers upon request. This form certifies compliance with all material and production specification requirements.

Designing in Compliance

Bushman Equipment's initial steps toward enhancing product safety occur during the earliest discussions between our sales department and the distributor or customer. To be used safely, every product must be designed for the specific application. Since an incomplete understanding of how the equipment will be used can result in adverse consequences, our sales department needs answers to a wide range of questions before the product can be designed and quoted. This fact is emphasized in our product literature and safety materials which remind customers to use the equipment only for the designated purpose. Similarly, customers are warned not to make alterations or modifications to the equipment.

Product Safety Labels

As part of the design process, Bushman engineers specify which product safety labels are to be affixed to each piece of equipment. Customers receive products with identification and safety decals already in place. They also receive an Identification and Safety Standards (ISS) sheet which shows the location of each decal. The sheet includes a message telling customers they must keep the decals clean and legible and may request free replacements when necessary.

all Bushman equipment provides Safety Instructions prepared by the Material Handling Industry of America.

Operator Safety Manuals

Operator Safety Manuals have been prepared for several types of equipment manufactured by Bushman. These manuals include information about product markings, pre-lift planning, operating instructions, equipment inspection and maintenance and storage requirements. Designed for handy reference, these manuals are small enough to fit into a shirt pocket.

Parts Books

Bushman sends a parts book with each piece of equipment shipped. Depending on the type and complexity of the equipment, parts books contain detailed information about installation, inspection and maintenance procedures, and component parts. Along with the parts book, customers also receive Bushman's warranty and a copy of the "Guidelines for Safe Operation of Below the Hook Lifters" prepared by the Material Handling Industry of America.
